Too Sick for School?

dr. dennis dunne illness policy

If you’re too sick for school, then you’re too sick for your appointment.

If your kiddo is SICK, please CANCEL your appointment. We are happy to reschedule you.

We follow the same guidelines as the schools. Your child needs to be:

  • Naturally fever-free for 24 hours.
  • Able to control their cough before coming to the office.
  • Able to control their mucous before coming to the office.

We want to keep everyone as healthy as we can, thanks for your understanding!

Everyone can do their part to help be prepared for this emerging public health concern. Many of the everyday precautions we take to prevent flu and the common cold are useful in protecting against the spread of COVID-19.

Steps you can take to prevent the spread of flu and the common cold can also help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

  • Wash hands thoroughly—for at least 20 seconds with soap and warm water. If soap and water are not available, use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Avoid contact with sick people.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or sleeve when coughing or sneezing. Wash your hands afterward.
  • Avoid touching your face, eyes or mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Stay home when sick and keep sick kids home from school, appointments and other activities. Students with fever or acute respiratory illness should stay home from school until they are free of fever and other symptoms for at least 24 hours, without the use of fever-reducing or other symptom-altering medicines.
